The proven technology for measuring heat consumption data. ista offers the state-of-the-art electronic heat allocation meter doprimo III (dual sensor device). 

The heat cost allocator (HCA) meter is a cost effective way to measure heat consumption on each apartment radiator. ista electronic HCA, the doprimo 3, is easy to install and is read remotely through our mesh radio network and central positioned GSM gateway; reading by the landlord or tenant is now no longer needed, nor is entry into the apartment. HCA meters are European Energy Directive compliant technology and provides Landlords a cost effective solution for accredited tenant consumption billing.

In times of increasing energy costs, it is important to measure and control energy consumption accurately. We meet our costumers' requirements by offering a variety of highly advanced heat metering instruments. Heat meters are used to measure the physical flow of energy used for heating.

Heat meters are used as heat cost allocators determining the heat consumption. However, unlike heat cost allocators they measure the physical design flow (heat) energy, which is why they are also called calorimeters. The modern measurement technology consists of a flow meter, two temperature sensors and an electronic calculator with LCD display. The first sensor measures the flow temperature and the second temperature sensor is used to detect the return temperature of the heating/cooling circuit. From the resulting temperature difference, flow and heat transfer properties the consumption is determined.

The heat meter generation ultego III with their different series and sizing provides a multitude of combination and application possibilities. In the compact version ultego III smart and perfect range consists of a calculator, flow sensor and temperature sensors. The calculators can be removed and mounted separately and the two external sensors specified at a number of lengths to meet all requirements. Both series can be provided with a number of integrated communication modules and are compliant to the European Measuring Instruments Directive MID.

Features of the ultego III

ultego III consists of a flow measuring section with two integrated ultrasonic sensors and an electronic calculator with bus output and a lithium battery. The battery life is 10 years plus one year reserve. Flow meters with a nominal flow rate from 3.5 to 60 m3 / h can be delivered.

Combined Heat and Cooling Meters - Sensonic II

The sensonic II has a hybrid calculator for the combined detection of heat and cold. The consumption values ​​for both heat and cooling calibration conform to regulation approved devices are shown two counter registers. The meter is available as a compact and combined version suitable for flexible use in residential and commercial properties. Using a combined sensonic II meter means that the installation of an additional refrigeration and heat meter can be omitted, reducing the equipment and installation costs.

Calibration-law requirements

Our sensonic II hybrid heat meters are approved in Europe under the EU Directive 2004 /22 / EC on measuring instruments. In addition, the refrigerant detection has been certified for Germany according to the guidelines of the Physikalisch -Technische Bundesanstalt ( PTB). So that the devices meet all statutory calibration requirements for precise measurement and legally compliant billing.

Different Configurations

The different types cover a wide range of requirements. The compact version with nominal flow rates of 0.6 / 1.5 and 2.5 m³ / h has been developed specifically for use in residential buildings. With an electronic multi-jet turbine , they have a high measurement stability throughout the life. The larger combined meters where the calculator, flow sensor and temperature sensor are installed separately, are at nominal flow rates up to 250 m³ / h and more suited for the commercial sector .

Switching between heating and cooling Measurement

The temperature difference between supply and return is recorded in 60 second intervals and converted to ​​an energy measurement. This also determines the automatic switching between heating and cooling measurement. The hybrid counter starts with heat detection, when the temperature difference is greater than 0 Kelvin and the flow temperature is above 20 ° C. Similarly, the device switches to cold mode as soon as the water temperature in the flow is less than the return , so there is a negative temperature difference and the flow temperature is less than 20 ° C. The amount of energy consumed is then calculated from the integrated electronic microchip (ASIC ) from the measured readings and various constants for the fluid flowing through (K - factor) and displayed on the LCD.

The ista M-Bus system is based upon the M-Bus protocol. It's a tried and tested system and highly adaptable.

There are a variety of masters available, allowing for up to 256 slaves per module. The products for expansion also include: humidity, indoor and outdoor temperature.
