IT Systems Engineer - Network Infrastructure
What your role will be
As an IT Systems Engineer – Network Infrastructure, you will play a key role in designing, implementing, and continuously improving our enterprise network environment. You will be responsible for ensuring the stability, scalability, performance, and security of our network services across on-premises and cloud-connected infrastructures.
In this role, you will act as a technical expert within the Network Infrastructure squad, driving engineering initiatives, supporting complex projects, and contributing to the evolution of our global network landscape.
Your responsibilities include
- Design, implement, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN, and network security solutions.
- Lead network modernization and optimization initiatives to improve performance, availability, and scalability.
- Configure, administer, and troubleshoot network devices such as routers, switches, wireless controllers, firewalls, and load balancers.
- Implement and maintain network monitoring, capacity management, and performance analysis solutions.
- Collaborate with Security, Cloud, and Infrastructure teams to ensure secure and reliable connectivity across all platforms.
- Analyze and resolve complex network incidents, identify root causes, and implement preventive measures.
- Create and maintain network architecture documentation, operational standards, and best practices.
- Support infrastructure projects, technology upgrades, and the introduction of new networking solutions.
What we are looking for
- Several years of hands-on experience in network engineering or network infrastructure administration.
- Strong knowledge of enterprise networking technologies, including routing, switching, wireless networks, VPNs, and DNS/DHCP services.
- Experience with leading network vendors and technologies such as Cisco, Aruba, Fortinet, Palo Alto, Juniper or similar.
- Solid understanding of network security principles, segmentation, firewalls, NAC, and secure remote access solutions.
- Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
- Familiarity with cloud networking concepts and hybrid infrastructure environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within international teams.
- Very good communication skills in English.
Bonus
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNP, Aruba Certified Professional, JNCIP, NSE, PCNSE).
- Experience with Software Defined Networking (SDN), automation, or Infrastructure as Code.
- German language skills.
