Following the acquisition of the metering service provider Alfred Aubort SA in Western Switzerland in October 2024, ista is now further expanding its market presence and service portfolio through the acquisition of Blockstrom. “Building owners and property managers in Switzerland now benefit even more from our holistic service offering in energy services for the building sector – from metering and billing to monitoring and energy data management, as well as ZEV and e-mobility,” says Guillaume Dubois, Managing Director of ista Switzerland.
Blockstrom enables the shared use of locally generated solar power. Property owners and managers can sustainably reduce energy costs and increase the profitability of their photovoltaic systems. The range of services is comprehensive: from potential analysis and technical implementation to consumption optimisation and the digital billing of shared energy.
In Switzerland, ZEV models are significantly more widespread than comparable tenant electricity models in Germany. Under the tenant electricity model, solar power generated on-site is supplied directly to tenants by the building owner or a service provider.
At the core of the Blockstrom solution is a cloud-based metering and billing system. It provides transparent real-time consumption data and significantly reduces administrative effort. Thanks to its open, manufacturer-independent technology, systems can be flexibly integrated, and investments safeguarded in the long term.
