Property owners and operators of commercial and industrial buildings in Denmark face growing expectations for transparent sustainability and CO₂ reporting. ista offers a clear and reliable way to manage all relevant consumption and emissions data across complex, large non-residential properties.
COUNTRY is at the forefront of sustainability and ESG compliance, driven by ambitious national priorities and stringent EU requirements. In the Swisscanto ESG Country Rating 2025, Denmark once again ranks number one, reflecting the country’s strong climate efforts. This leading position is supported by some of Europe’s most comprehensive requirements for non-residential properties, which became even stricter in 2025.
To remain compliant, increase operational efficiency, and support COUNTRY's continued sustainability ambitions, ista provides fast and reliable access to modern ESG management and CO₂ reporting. We deliver the majority of the consumption and emissions data required for transparent CO₂ analyses, both for individual sites and entire commercial and industrial portfolios.
Analyze energy consumption, emissions, and operating costs instantly, and turn insights into robust, compliant sustainability reporting. Whether you report under the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) or share data with investors, boards, or other stakeholders, our solution ensures accuracy, consistency, and transparency across all non-residential properties.
Ensure transparent energy and emissions data across all sites with simplified reporting and less manual work. Our digital service centralizes key data for office buildings, retail environments, logistics centers, and mixed-use properties.
Managing large non-residential portfolios involves complex requirements for sustainability documentation. We consolidate all relevant consumption and emissions data in one place to support informed decisions and consistent compliance.
Gain clear insights into energy-intensive processes, CO₂ hotspots, and improvement measures as part of ESG documentation. Automated data flows help document progress, reduce risks, and support long-term sustainability goals across factories, warehouses, and production environments.
ista supports commercial and industrial property owners and facility managers by providing the data foundation needed for transparent and compliant ESG management. Instead of navigating complex reporting requirements alone, you receive centrally prepared, high-quality consumption and emissions data that can be used directly for sustainability analyses, CO₂ calculations, and reporting obligations. Our service ensures consistency across all buildings, reduces administrative work, and makes it easier to respond quickly to regulatory requirements.
To support your ESG processes, ista provides:
With ista, you get a streamlined and reliable approach to ESG data, allowing you to meet increasing legal requirements without added complexity.
Denmark has strengthened its sustainability legislation with Act No. 480 of May 2, 2024, implementing the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). The law came into effect on June 1, 2024, and requires all large companies and all publicly listed companies (except listed micro-enterprises) to disclose detailed ESG information in their annual reports.
Companies must now publish far more comprehensive and standardized sustainability information than before. Reporting must follow the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) and include an auditor’s statement with limited assurance. All sustainability information must be submitted digitally as part of the management report.
The law also raises the size thresholds for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises by approximately 20–25%, meaning more organizations operating commercial and industrial buildings will gradually fall under these requirements.
These changes increase the need for precise ESG data across portfolios. ista provides this foundation with reliable consumption and emissions data, enabling compliant and transparent reporting in complex commercial and industrial environments.
Even if companies are not legally required to report under CSRD, ESG reporting is becoming increasingly important. Customers, lenders, suppliers, and investors now expect transparent sustainability information, even from smaller commercial players. To support these companies, the EU has introduced the voluntary VSME standard, a simplified framework designed for small and medium-sized enterprises.
Formally recommended by the European Commission on July 30, 2024, and reinforced through the 2025 Omnibus Regulation, VSME acts as a “Value Chain Cap”: CSRD-regulated companies may only request the type of ESG information from small businesses that is defined in the VSME standard. This reduces the reporting burden and creates a proportional framework for value chain requirements.
For smaller commercial and industrial companies, this means simpler requirements, less administration, and better alignment with what banks and partners expect. Our software supports this by providing the consumption and emissions data required for VSME-compliant reporting across multiple sites.
ESG data provides a clear picture of a building’s efficiency, from energy consumption and CO₂ emissions to long-term performance indicators. As EU requirements and stakeholder expectations evolve, accurate ESG data becomes essential for compliance, risk management, and strategic decision-making.
With ESG-Navi, analyses and reports for individual sites or entire commercial and industrial portfolios can be generated with a single click. The platform helps plan decarbonization, prepare sustainability reports, and document progress over time. Most of the required consumption and emissions data is delivered directly via ista’s systems, reducing manual work and ensuring consistent, reliable information across properties.
