The ista WebAPI allows property managers to access essential metering data directly within their own systems. Designed for secure, automated data exchange, our smart solution integrates property structures, consumption readings, billing information and documents, making energy management simpler, faster and more transparent for residential buildings.
Centralising metering and billing information is essential for smooth operations in residential property management. Ista's WebAPI provides a secure interface that connects its data services directly with the property manager’s software environment.
Instead of downloading files or navigating separate applications, property managers and owners can automatically receive building data, meter readings, billing information and documents in real time.
This solves the key challenge of providing transparent, consistent and accessible metering information, while also reducing the need for manual work and providing a familiar system.
The ista WebAPI allows residential and building management companies to integrate essential metering and billing data into their own digital ecosystem. By using standard web protocols, the API connects ista’s core data services with third-party platforms. This ensures reliable access to verified consumption information and supports automated workflows across the entire property portfolio.
REST-based WebAPI for easy integration
Secure, authenticated access
Property structure data
Meter readings and consumption values
Standardised formats for fast processing
Compatible with common property management systems
Scalable for residential portfolios of any size
Designed to support GDPR and Belgian data protection requirements

Avoid switching between multiple applications. Automate data flows, reduce manual work and keep all information where you need it: in the platforms you already use.
The WebAPI makes this verified data available to the property manager’s chosen software environment. The system sends a request to the API and receives up-to-date information in response, ranging from property structures to individual readings.
This ensures that all residential metering data is delivered directly into a single, familiar tool, supporting transparent cost allocation for owners and residents while maintaining efficient workflows for property managers.
ista WebAPI is a web-based interface that enables authorised software systems to access standardised, machine-readable ista data, such as property structures, meter readings, billing elements and documents. It is intended for property managers looking to integrate ista data directly into their own tools.
The WebAPI is intended for professional users: property management companies, large property owners, ICT partners and software providers that manage residential buildings in Belgium. Access is granted based on contractual agreements and technical onboarding with ista.
Depending on your setup and permissions, the ista WebAPI can provide access to:
• Property and portfolio structures
• Meter readings and consumption values
• Billing-relevant information
• Selected documents related to billing or reporting
The exact scope is defined in the integration agreement with ista.
All relevant ista data is delivered directly to the property manager's software. There is no need to download files or log into a separate ista application. New employees only need to get to grips with one tool — the property manager’s system — and they still benefit from accurate, up-to-date ista metering data.
The processing of metering and consumption data in Belgium is subject to the EU GDPR and the Belgian Act of 30 July 2018 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data.
The ista WebAPI is built to support compliance with these rules through secure authentication, encrypted communication and role-based access to data. Only authorised systems and users can request and retrieve information.
No. The WebAPI is an additional way to access ista data, intended for seamless system-to-system integration. Property managers can switch to use ista’s existing online tools if they wish, but the WebAPI makes it possible to keep day-to-day work entirely inside their own software.
Your system must be able to communicate with a REST-based web service, handle secure HTTPS connections and implement the agreed authentication method. ista will provide technical documentation and test access to support your development and integration.
Yes. The WebAPI can be used for properties in all Belgian regions – Flanders, Wallonia and Brussels – as long as ista provides metering and billing services for the respective buildings.
