To strengthen our team, we are seeking an experienced Financial Controller who is both operationally strong and a strategic partner to management.

As a Financial Controller at ista Nederland B.V., you are responsible for the reliability, accuracy, and timeliness of the financial administration. You are actively involved in daily administrative processes, while also playing a central role in the budgeting and forecasting process and providing in-depth financial analyses to support decision-making. You report to the Chief Financial Officer and work closely with both local teams and international stakeholders within the ista Group.

As a Financial Controller, you combine operational responsibility with strategic impact.

Operational Financial Administration

Participating in daily accounting processes, including:
Periodic closings (monthly, quarterly, annual)
Indirect general ledger management
Reviewing and analyzing financial transactions.
Ensuring the correct application of accounting rules and internal guidelines.
Coordinating tax and statutory reporting.

Budgeting & Forecasting

Coordinating the annual budgeting process for ista Netherlands.
Preparing and monitoring periodic forecasts (quarterly).
Monitoring budget variances and advising management on corrective actions.

Financial Analysis & Reporting

Conducting in-depth analyses of:
Revenue, cost trends, and margins
Operational KPIs and business performance
Preparing management reports for both the Dutch executive board and the international group.
Identifying financial risks and opportunities and proactively driving improvements.

Process Optimization & Compliance

Improving and standardizing financial processes and controls.
Assisting with audits (internal/external).
Actively contributing to digitization and automation projects within Finance.

You hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Finance, Business Economics, Accountancy, or a related field.

You have 10 to 15 years of relevant work experience, for example as an Assistant Controller or Financial Controller.

You have experience with budgeting and forecasting processes.

You have strong analytical skills and can translate complex data into clear insights.
check

You have a hands-on mindset and switch effortlessly between operations and strategy.
check

You work accurately, are proactive, and are constantly focused on process improvement.
check

You possess strong communication skills and feel comfortable in an international environment.
check

You have excellent knowledge of Excel and experience with ERP systems (such as SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics), and you have a good command of both Dutch and English.
