Every drop counts: manage your water consumption more efficiently and cost-effectively with our advanced water meters.
Discover how our advanced measurement technology contributes to resource conservation and accurate, consumption-based billing. We supply a complete range of cold and hot water flow meters for every need, from flats and houses to large-scale commercial installations.
Our modular system offers three flexible options: contact, radio or M-Bus. Even the smallest leaks, such as a dripping tap, are detected and included in the billing – for ultimate transparency and control.

We have further optimised our domaqua® m smart water meter to make it an all-rounder for various residential applications. This modular surface water meter supports radio, M-Bus and contact technology — all in one device.
This single-jet impeller meter with magnetic coupling and roller counter ensures reliable transmission of the impeller rotation to the counter. Supplied as standard with a blank module that can be easily removed at any time, allowing you to upgrade modularly with ease.
Thanks to its dry measuring system, the domaqua® m offers high measuring accuracy at low flow rates and a long service life. Its robust design prevents dirt or deposits from entering the meter, while the housing provides effective protection against water splashes.
With a contact module, the domaqua® m can be read remotely and connected to automated reading systems, such as central control or building management systems. The plug-in modules have a service life of ten years — even if the meter needs to be replaced due to calibration requirements.

Discover how our energy management services can help you monitor, optimise and reduce energy consumption, leading to significant cost savings and sustainability.
Precise measurement technology enables accurate recording and consumption-based billing of water usage. ista's smart water meters feature a built-in wireless interface, allowing them to be read remotely at preset intervals and data to be transmitted automatically. This ensures accurate, timely and hassle-free monitoring of water consumption.
The compact, modular design allows for flexible installation and integration with various communication protocols, including contact, radio and M-Bus, enabling regular monitoring of water consumption throughout an entire building and seamless, efficient data management. In addition, ultrasonic measurement options ensure greater accuracy. The system can be adapted to specific on-site requirements, ensuring maximum efficiency.
Each meter is designed for dry operation, preventing mechanical parts from being exposed to water. This helps prevent deposits and ensures long-term measurement accuracy.
Furthermore, remotely readable water meters offer maximum convenience for consumption-based billing of water and heating. As the devices automatically record and process consumption electronically, there is no need to read the meters in the flats on site.

A water meter (also known as a water clock) measures the volume of flowing water. There is a distinction between hot and cold water meters: hot water meters are for temperatures of 30–90 °C, cold water meters are for temperatures up to 30 °C.
With a rental or service contract, an ista service partner reads the meters. With remotely readable meters, visits to individual homes are no longer necessary — all consumption is automatically processed electronically.
In flats, usually in the kitchen or bathroom (sometimes behind a panel near the riser pipe); in a detached house, often in the basement near the main shut-off valve. If absent, a water meter can be retrofitted to the shut-off valve of the property.
According to the European MID Directive, meters in the low flow range must achieve an accuracy of ±5%. Under continuous load, cold water meters measure to ±2% and hot water meters to ±3%. (German calibration error limits doubled as national limits)
Water meters are replaced periodically to ensure accurate measurement. The standard lifespan is usually 10-15 years for older meters, and around 20 years for newer meters. This may vary depending on the water company.
