ista measures the energy and water consumption of all residents in the building and prepares the bills. In this way, ista helps to make buildings sustainable for residents and owners. We ensure that all data is properly managed and that processes run smoothly, so that buildings are environmentally friendly, safe and pleasant to live in.
At ista, we ensure that energy, water and service costs are billed transparently, fairly and comprehensively. We use modern measuring technology and digital solutions to give you a clear overview of your energy consumption at all times.
If your property manager has a contract with ista, you can easily view your energy and water consumption online. There you have the option to compare your consumption with the average consumption in the building or with your own previous consumption. This allows you to always keep track and, if you wish, easily save energy and costs.
People sometimes think that ista is an energy company, but this is not the case. ista does not earn more or less depending on how much or how little you consume. We supply and install meters on behalf of your property manager. This allows us to see how much each resident consumes in the building where you live. Using this consumption data, the necessary resident details and the total costs for the building or rates provided to us by the property manager, we prepare a personalised bill for each resident.
Homes where energy consumption is measured and where residents can monitor their own consumption save between 15% and 20% energy on average.
In your home, you use an energy system that serves all residents in the building where you live. We also refer to this as block heating. The energy company charges your landlord or property manager for the energy supplied to the entire building. The total costs of the energy supplied must be paid by all residents. That is why we measure the personal consumption of all residents and calculate exactly what costs are associated with this. In this way, we create a separate bill for each resident in the building. We do this on behalf of your property manager, housing association or owners' association.
This may include heat cost allocators, water meters or heat meters. They record how much heat or water you consume in your home. This allows for fair billing of personal consumption.
The meters count how much heat or water you actually use, usually in special consumption units. This data is regularly transmitted by radio to a central receiver in the building. This eliminates the need to manually read the consumption in each home and ensures that the data is complete and reliable.
All receivers in the building collect data from the homes and automatically send it to ista. There, the data is stored, checked and processed for billing. The advantage: no estimates or missing values, just accurate meter readings.
Consumption data alone is not sufficient to prepare a bill. That is why the property manager or landlord passes on the actual costs for the entire building to ista. These are the costs for fuels (gas, oil, district heating, etc.), maintenance and operating costs for the heating system, and any costs for water or electricity. ista processes this data in order to distribute the total costs fairly among all residents.
To do this, ista combines two types of information: your personal consumption, as recorded by the meters in your home, and the total costs for the building, as provided by the property manager. Based on this, we calculate the amount each home must pay. A distinction is made between variable costs – your share of the total consumption, depending on how much heat or water you have used – and fixed costs, which arise from general expenses such as maintenance or basic rates. This ensures that the bill is both fair and easy to understand.
You will receive a statement once a year from your property manager or from ista. If you do not consume any energy, you will only receive a statement for the fixed costs.
We measure the heat and water consumption of residents in a building with block heating and distribute the total energy costs fairly among all residents.
ista measures the personal heat consumption of all residents in the building and distributes the total heating costs on that basis. This means that everyone pays for their own consumption and receives an accurate and clear overview of the costs.
ista measures the water consumption of each resident so that the total water costs can be divided fairly. This means that everyone pays for what they actually use. By understanding their own consumption, residents can consciously save on their water costs.
ista's energy and water bills can also include all of the property manager's annual service charges. This gives residents a complete and accurate overview of all costs.
