You live in a building with block heating and once a year ista makes the settlement of your heat and/or water consumption on behalf of your landlord or manager. Here's how we do it.
Your home is connected to block heating. This means that one central installation supplies heat to all homes in the building. ista measures how much heat and/or water you use. Every year, ista makes your personal statement on behalf of your landlord or manager. It shows you exactly how much you have paid in advances and whether you will receive a refund or have to pay extra.
The total heating costs consist of fixed costs and variable costs. The variable costs are the costs for heat consumption. The total
are divided by the total consumption of all residents. This is how we get the price per unit of heat. We multiply this price per unit by your own consumption. This is how the costs for your consumption arise.
You always pay the fixed costs, even if you use little heat or water. These costs are, for example, for management, administration and maintenance. Your administrator determines this amount. Usually, it is distributed according to the floor area of the houses.
On your statement you can see which meter readings have been measured on the radiator meters in your home. All meters on the radiators in the building count at the same speed. Because radiators differ in size and power, the meter reading is multiplied by a conversion factor. The conversion factor depends on the power of the radiator. We calculate your consumption by multiplying your meter reading by the conversion factor.
Sometimes reductions can be applied if a house is disadvantageous from a heat technical point of view (for example, a corner house or a house adjacent to an unheated stairwell).
The radiator gauges used by ista comply with the European standard NEN-EN 834 to ensure that the measurements are accurate and reliable. The settlement also complies with applicable standards.
